St. Philip’s was established in Holly Ridge in 1939 as the Diocese of East Carolina became aware of the need for churches along the Intracoastal Waterway.  For years it was a “community” church and even offered Monday School for all the children in the area. Education and food, worship and involvement in the community are marks of St. Philip’s.  The Bishop has mentioned that it is the only church in the diocese with a screened door, iconostasis and glass altar – unique and friendly, old fashioned and anxious to deal with the world as it has changed… a lively caring community to which you are most warmly welcome.The screen door was removed during replacement of the front door, but we still have a unique welcoming community of Faith – we hope that you will worship with us very soon.
